Leadership

The More Light! Campaign is led by a team of alumni and friends eager to share the enthusiasm about continuing Lawrence’s tradition of excellence, and about the pioneering programs and initiatives that further define the university and our students.

Bill Hochkammer ’66 says Lawrence changed his life (we hear that a lot) and that's one reason he wanted to spearhead the efforts for the campaign. “I came in as a typical freshman. I left as someone with far greater appreciation for liberal arts and the ability to integrate it all into a lifelong curiosity. I owe a lot to the Lawrence experience.”

Harry Jansen Kraemer ’77 cites pride in Lawrence as his reason for becoming so involved (we hear that, too). “I didn't know, when I chose Lawrence, that I was choosing so critical a part of my future. The university, its professors and the other students all had a very big part in helping me learn how to think, how to go out into the world and achieve.”

Kraemer and Hochkammer were recently interviewed by the editorial staff of Lawrence Today. Here's what they had to say about More Light!.

Hochkammer, Kraemer, and 14 trustees and friends of Lawrence make up the More Light! campaign steering committee, leading the efforts of numerous alumni, staff, faculty and students in the More Light! campaign.
